File Under: Wycombe Wanderers Jazz Scene

Better get yourself together, darling

Ron Waller

Wycombe Wanderers 1 Mansfield Town 2

Two results in the space of a few weeks that could shape a season, says the man in front of me. Losing at home to the bottom two in the division isn’t in the plan. If there’s a Wycombe fan that’s not desperate for promotion this season, then they’re keeping pretty quiet. Things are starting to get itchy again. Itchy and Scratchy.

Spoilt rotten

Harry Secombe

Wycombe Wanderers 0 Dagenham & Redbridge 1

Shortly before kick-off, sinister rumours are sweeping the Valley End that those pathetic socialists at the FA have ordered Dagenham to find a new nickname. Rotherham Away - 19 Jan 2008

So then, Rotherham. Actually, a club with which we should feel some kinship:

"Groundticking"

There, I said it. It’s one of the most shameful instincts known to football fandom, the beautiful game’s equivalent of stamp-collecting, with all the aura of cool that that implies. Especially in these Franchise-infested days when no self-respecting soul could ever complete the 92 without finding the mark of Cain firmly branded on them for all eternity.

Use just once and destroy

Swindon? Really? Do we have to? We play them every couple of months as it is…I want Ware, Barrow, Harrogate Railway, Chasetown…anyone! Anyone but that lot.
