Is It Wicked Not To Care?

Oh what a fine day Saturday October 20 was in the many Meat Clinics of Brill Hill and the Gibbon hinterland. First of all Wycombe Wanderers put the recent civil wars and bloodless coups behind them and sped to a 3-0 victory against Grimsby, and secondly the rutting, braying apes of the Rugby World (sic) Cup Nike England team suffered a dreary cup final defeat in Paris.

Seeing the weeping of the England fans was truly a joyous sight, their duty free cologne running down their oversized necks and into their pathetically clingy replica kit. The level of ostentation and glamour surrounding the event was ridiculous, considering that 97% of the world could not give a flying fuck about who won, lost, or was refused entry for being too thin. So, the team that invented apartheid defeated the originators of the concentration camp. The planet is proud of you both, I’m sure.

Even better, the lack of an England win means that the bandwagon will hopefully disintegrate as fast as it appeared and curse our hated tenants Wasps to a miserable season. With the recent appearance of the Wycombe MD on the Wasps board, it seems that the only way we will get rid of this scourge on High Wycombe is if they go out of business via a horrific decline. We dream of their attendances hitting rock bottom and them playing out shitty games on the M40 hard shoulder, weakly claiming the passing traffic as a “record crowd”.

And congratulations to Scott McGleish who masterminded Wycombe’s fine win today. He was once a hated figure at SMBU for his Colchester Vermin connections and subsequent life living in the RETAIL park in Northampton, but now he is hitting his Buckinghamshire stride and it is good to have a Wycombe striker who is a not a jumped-up prick or the kid who gets a game because his brother is handy and has a Mitre Delta.

Sometimes sport makes you get up and cry “yes!”. Not often, but sometimes.
